For more than twenty-five years, Hollis Taggart Galleries has specialized in fine American art, particular that of the early modern period and Post-War art. In twentieth-century art, movements including the Ashcan group, Stieglitz Circle modernism, Abstract Expressionism, and Minimalism are represented by the gallery.
The gallery is located on the Upper East Side’s Museum Mile, just across the street from the Whitney Museum of American Art. In this ideal setting, the gallery is poised to continue its mission of presenting numerous museum-quality exhibitions, which have significantly contributed to the study of American art. Curated by the gallery’s directors with foremost scholars in the field, Hollis Taggart Galleries has organized critically acclaimed exhibitions. We have been pleased to collaborate with over thirty museums and institutions that have loaned works to these shows. Substantial scholarly catalogues accompany each exhibition; these publications are important sources of information and new research.
